I write because I believe that artistic expression matters, that every creative act humans undertake makes the world energetically better. I write because it helps me explore confusion and darkness. It helps me celebrate wonder and light. I write to understand my own experience in the context of the world I inhabit. I write because it brings me joy.

Why would I rob myself or my readers and listeners of any of that by handing over the sacred and intrinsically satisfying process of creating to an entity that lacks my embodied existence, my subjective consciousness, my imagination and my voice? I wouldn’t. And I don’t.

I believe AI has utility in certain contexts, but creative writing is simply not one of them, and it has no place in my creative process. None. You can trust that.
