I’ve invited Ganesha to hang out in the reading room! He’s one of the most loved Hindu deities, and my favorite of all those I’ve encountered. I love and honor him for being the Remover of Obstacles (Vighnaharta) and the Bestower of Wisdom and Knowledge (Buddhipriya). He is the Patron of Letters and Learning. Many writers honor and appeal to him at the start of new literary ventures. I have populated my home with statues of Ganesha. This one, of Ganesha reading, came back with me from Cambodia.
